A State of NEGLECT

Growing up in Ipoh used to bring back fond memories at least between the years of the 70's and the 80's before progress actually caught on.With the dawn of the digital age and information revolution, the silver state of PERAK at a glance has been left behind by my own personal account, a million miles.

What can the state boast of for the past 30 years, the natural caves? the natural forrest? the fantastic landscape? the abundant natural resources? skyscrapers? monuments? museums? cultural heritage? international airport? highways? hotels? public transport?shopping malls? restaurants? theme parks? and the list goes on and on and on.

From the political stand point, politician from UMNO, MCA, MIC and GERAKAN will try to justify their existence and relevance in the management of the state and we are bursting at the seams of development and may I say this, you F...ing liars and frauds and a poor excuse for a human being, much less a reliable and trustworthy politican.

Perak can boast of the following in the Malaysian success story context:

1. the only non operable airport in the country
2. the slow and definate demise of the first inland port in the country
3. public transportation reminiscence of the 70's
4. garbage collection incompetency
5. grass cutters being employed by MBI i.e. 2 sub con and one inhouse just to cut the grass in one area
6. non renewal of mining license (environmental so called issues)
7. non renewal of quarry license (environmental so calles issues)
8. most strategically located bus station
9. most accessible Immigration Department
10. most strategically located Pejabat Tanah Kinta
11. the state which houses the most Tesco outlet in Malaysia
12. depleted and run dowm town hall
13. the most active tourism offfice in Malaysia (being closed all the time)
14. most vibrant tourism industry in Malaysia (cant even find a decent travel catalogue)
15. most promising Perak IT hub in Meru (never fully utilised)
16. the most efficient state development corporation in Malaysia (PKNP)
17. the cleanest river in Malaysia (sungai kinta)
18. turf club of shame in terms of development
19. real estate which can never seem to gain much in the past 30 yrs
20.FTZ deserted
21. Pharmaceutical zone deserted

and the list goes on and on and on and might take another year just to finish listing the state of affairs of this fantastic state called Perak (the so called former silver state) and I would definately be wasting my time rambling on what could have been and might have been for all of us are just "has been"!

The paid salary of common people in Perak is pale compared with the leaps and bounds of the other states in Malaysia. Industies are closing shop, new ones are not forthcoming after fantastic reviews and experience with the so called investment promotion agencies of the state, the less than friendly TNB when it comes to cable laying and the list just goes on and on.

To top it of, some smart investor is investing millions in a 6 star hotel in Royal Belum Forrest to promote eco tourism, and might I add, why on earth would anyone want to go to Belum which is such a distance and the infra sucks (some might want to defer) and amenities are scare if compared with Indonesia, Thailand or even Vietnam and again the so called technocrats in the former state government will beg to differ. We can only hope the new circus of jokers awaiting swearing in ceremony can do a better job, remains to be seen.

Recently some smart alec from MCA proclaimed that he will bring the glory of the yester years back to Perak amist the intensive election campaign and guess what, what the hell has he been doing for the past 4 terms as an appointed state executive councellor of Perak and he is now a Minister in the Cabinet. Were his hand tied then ? and what makes him think now, his hands are not tied or he is going to toe the line in Putrajaya again for the interest of the rakyat. Somehow non of this hold water.Describe or equate this as, "Shock and Awe", term used by the Americans when they invaded Iraq.

The bare truth is that the so called politicians will only take care of themselves and will always be in disguise as "little red riding hood".

Shame on all you so called,"Defender of the Weak and Deprived". What all you past and present leaders has collectively contributed destruction and devastation to all our future generations who still wants to call Perak our home state.

Sad but true and reality hurts and the emotional scar unbearable and with the advant and pending take over of the state government today I hope or whenever the Sultan feels like it (for the good of the rakyat) in accepting the political appointments, I am resigned to my fate as a Perakian and the saying goes, " Inilah nasib negeri ku Perak and negara ku Malaysia".

With what is happening at the Federal Level and similarities could be drawn from Thailand, Indonesia and Filipines, a coup is brewing and only the Rakyat will suffer what ever the outcome is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
